Match Score Summary report
Depending on the permissions associated with your user role, this report may not be available.
The Match Score Summary report shows the results of the most recent scans of your account's devices by the Endpoint Data Discovery (EDD) policies activated within your account. For example, you may have configured the rules in an EDD policy to detect credit card information stored on a set of devices, and another EDD policy to detect Personal Health Information found on another set of devices.
A Match Score is provided for each active EDD rule. Match Score is a computed value indicating the number of content matches detected on a device for the associated rule. You can sort the report by Match Score to find those devices with unacceptable levels of confidential or at-risk data. You can then open a device's Endpoint Data Discovery Summary page to view details about each file and the specific content that generated a match. This allows you to evaluate each match individually to identify false positive A result on an EDD-related report or page in which a match is detected in a file, but upon further investigation, you do not consider the matched content to be at-risk data.s and determine a device's level of risk.
The scope of the report is limited to information collected during the last full EDD scan The Secure Endpoint Agent process that opens and analyzes files on a device's hard drive to identify at-risk content, as defined in an Endpoint Data Discovery policy. See also DAR component. of each device and all subsequent delta scans. EDD scans can take between a few hours and a few days to complete. If a scan is in progress when you run the report, data from that scan is not included. For new activations, it may take several days before data is available in this report.
On the Reports page, you can access this report from Absolute view or the Data Visibility category.

The Match Score Summary report applies only to supported Windows and Mac devices with an active Endpoint Data Discovery policy and an Agent status The operating condition of a device's Secure Endpoint Agent. Possible values are Active (indicates that the device's agent has connected to the Absolute Monitoring Center), Inactive (indicates one of the following: the device was moved to another account; the device was unenrolled, but it is now set to be reactivated; or the device had Persistence enabled at the factory, but it has not yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center), and Disabled (indicates that the agent is either flagged for removal or removed from the unenrolled device). Inactive and Disabled devices do not consume a license. set to Active.

To view information in the Match Score Summary report you first need to activate the Endpoint Data Discovery (EDD) policy in one or more policy groups.

By default, there are no filters applied to the Match Score Summary report; all devices with an active EDD policy show in the report, even if the device's Match Score is zero (0). However, you can create a customized version of the report by adding filters based on one or more filter criteria.

The Match Score Summary report includes EDD Match Score information organized in the following columns:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Device name |
Includes the device's device name The name assigned to the device in the operating system. For Chromebooks, device name is not applicable and therefore shows as "Chrome" in the Secure Endpoint Console. and serial number The identification number assigned to the device by the device manufacturer. For Windows devices, this value may correspond to the serial number of the BIOS, the motherboard, or the chassis, depending on the manufacturer. To view the device's Device Details page, click the linked device name. |
Username |
Username of the user who was logged in to the device when an agent connection occurred If no user was logged in during the most recent agent connection, the last detected username shows. |
Policy Group | Name of the policy group that the device belongs to |
Encryption > Status |

Scan Date | Date and time (local device time The name assigned to the device in the operating system. For Chromebooks, device name is not applicable and therefore shows as "Chrome" in the Secure Endpoint Console.) when the scan finished on the device |
Total Match Score |
Total matches detected on a device for all applicable EDD rules This value equates to the sum of all values in the other Match Score columns. A higher value may indicate that an unacceptable amount of confidential or at risk data is stored on the device. If the Total Match Score is prefixed by a greater than symbol (>) the most recent EDD scan on the device was stopped due to an excessive number of detected matches. |
Credit Card Match Score |
Total matches detected on a device for the applicable EDD rule The calculation of Match Score varies depending on rule type and content type. If a column contains null values, no matches were found, or the associated rule is not enabled in any EDD policy. |
