Device Freeze Status report
The Device Freeze Status report shows all devices with an outstanding Freeze request or an active Offline Freeze rule. To help you track and manage these devices, the report includes details about each request or rule, including its unfreeze code A 4 to 8 digit passcode that a user can enter on a frozen device to unfreeze it., request type, status, and the user who requested it.
Note that the following requests (or rules) are not included in the report:
- Requests that failed to be processed
- Removed requests (removed by a Remove Freeze request, the device's unfreeze code, or an Unenroll Device request)
- Requests replaced by another request
- Deactivated or deleted Offline Freeze rules
On the Reports page, you can access this report from Absolute view or the Security category.
To view the Device Freeze Status report, your user role needs to be granted Perform permissions for Remove Freeze. The following default user roles are granted these permissions: System Administrator, Security Administrator, and Security Power User.
The Device Freeze Status report applies to Windows and Mac devices with an outstanding Freeze request or an active Offline Freeze rule.
By default, there are no filters applied to the report, but you can add filters to refine the list of devices. For example, to show only frozen devices, add the Status is Frozen filter.
The Device Freeze Status report includes a default collection of information organized in the following columns:

Device name |
Device name, which includes the device's device name The name assigned to the device in the operating system. For Chromebooks, device name is not applicable and therefore shows as "Chrome" in the Secure Endpoint Console. and serial number The identification number assigned to the device by the device manufacturer. For Windows devices, this value may correspond to the serial number of the BIOS, the motherboard, or the chassis, depending on the manufacturer. To view the device's Device Details page, click the linked device name. |

The 4 to 8 digit passcode that a user can enter on the device to unfreeze it For security reasons, the unfreeze code is masked. To show it, click . To hide it again, click . When you export this report, the unfreeze code is not masked. |

The user that submitted the request or created the rule When a rule's status change is triggered by its offline timer After an Offline Freeze rule is activated on a device, the offline timer starts counting down on the device. With each successful agent check-in the timer resets. If a device does not check in before the timer expires, the device is frozen. The length of the timer in days is specified in the rule configuration., Device Freeze Job Scheduler shows in this field. |
The Device Freeze Status report can contain multiple records for a single device. For example, it is possible for a Windows device to simultaneously have an outstanding On-demand Freeze, a Scheduled Freeze, and an Offline Freeze rule.
To view more information about a device, click the device's row to open the device overview dialog. The following information is available:
- Device identifier header
- Device name The name assigned to the device in the operating system. For Chromebooks, device name is not applicable and therefore shows as "Chrome" in the Secure Endpoint Console.
- Serial number The identification number assigned to the device by the device manufacturer. For Windows devices, this value may correspond to the serial number of the BIOS, the motherboard, or the chassis, depending on the manufacturer. | Absolute Identifier The unique Electronic Serial Number (ESN) assigned to the Secure Endpoint Agent that is installed on a device.
- Encryption status The detected status of a Windows or Mac device with respect to the installation of a full-disk encryption product. Possible values are: Encrypted, Used Space Encrypted, Not Encrypted, Suspended, Encryption In Progress, Decryption in Progress, Not Detected and No Data.

Last connected The date and time when a device's Secure Endpoint Agent last checked in to the Absolute Monitoring Center. (as a relative date, such as 23 days ago)
Hover over the relative date to view the exact date and time in a tooltip.

Model The manufacturer's designated name for the type of device.
To view the device's Device Details page, click View Device.
You can search for a record by device name, Absolute Identifier, serial number, unfreeze code, Device Freeze ID, request name, message name, or requester.
To perform a search, enter all or part of a keyword in the search field and click Search or press Enter.
By default, the report data is sorted by the Last updated date column, in ascending order. You can change the sort order by clicking a column heading. The C
Depending on the Absolute licenses associated with your account, and your user role, you may be able to perform some or all of the following tasks on the Device Freeze Status report:
- Open and view the report
- Adjust the columns on the report
- Add or remove filters
- Export the report
- Email the report on a set schedule
- Favorite the report
- Save changes to report filters and columns to create a custom view or a new report
