Activation report
After the Secure Endpoint Agent is installed, you can you use the Activation report to confirm that devices have successfully enrolled in your account.
Specifically, the Activation report shows the following devices:
- Devices that have completed a first check-in to the Absolute Monitoring Center
- Devices that have been activated at the factory but have not yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center
On the Reports page, you can access this report from Absolute view or the Device category.
The Activation report applies to all supported devices.
By default, the following filter is used to generate this report:
Agent status is Active or Agent status is Inactive or Firmware persistence status is Active
The Activation report includes a default collection of device information organized in the following columns:
If No Data shows in a column, the information was not detected on the device.
You can use most of the device information as search criteria to search for a device, or a group of devices. You can also include other device information in the report, such as custom fields, by adding more columns. To refresh the report's data, click in the page footer.
You can use the Activation report to monitor factory activated devices that are in transit and haven't yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center. The Absolute Persistence module Absolute Persistence® technology is embedded in the BIOS of most Windows devices during the manufacturing process. The Persistence module is activated during theSecure Endpoint Agent’s first connection to the Absolute Monitoring Center. This software checks the status of the agent and initiates self-healing to restore the agent if it's missing, damaged, or tampered with. is activated at the factory. The Secure Endpoint Agent will activate the first time the device is powered on. As the device has not yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center, limited information is available about the device. The following columns are populated:
- Agent status The operating condition of a device's Secure Endpoint Agent. Possible values are Active (indicates that the device's agent has connected to the Absolute Monitoring Center), Inactive (indicates one of the following: the device was moved to another account; the device was unenrolled, but it is now set to be reactivated; or the device had Persistence enabled at the factory, but it has not yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center), and Disabled (indicates that the agent is either flagged for removal or removed from the unenrolled device). Inactive and Disabled devices do not consume a license.
- Make The manufacturer of a device.
- Serial number The identification number assigned to the device by the device manufacturer. For Windows devices, this value may correspond to the serial number of the BIOS, the motherboard, or the chassis, depending on the manufacturer.
By default, the report data is sorted by the Device Name column, in ascending order. You can change the sort order by clicking a column heading.
Depending on the Absolute licenses associated with your account, and your user role, you may be able to perform some or all of the following tasks on the Activation report:
- Open and view the report
- Adjust the columns on the report
- Add or remove filters
- Export the report
- Email the report on a set schedule
- Favorite the report
- Save changes to report filters and columns to create a custom view or a new report
Depending on the Absolute licenses associated with your account, and your user role, you may be able to perform some or all of the following tasks on the devices in this report:
- Search for and view individual devices in the report
- View the location of your devices
