Working with Device Analytics reports

You can work with the bar chart in the following ways:

To …	Do this …
Change the report criteria shown on the vertical axis of the bar chart	Next to Display, click the link and select one of the following options: Count of Devices with Events (default option): select this option to show the number of devices, per device group, with login and unlock events during the date range. Device Activity: select this option to show the total amount of device activity, per device group, during the date range. The axis uses the following units to show this information: Minutes shows when the largest value for any device group is less than 10,000 minutes Hours shows when the largest value for any device group is between 10,000 minutes and 600,000 minutes (10,000 hours) Days shows when the largest hour count for any device group exceeds 10,000 hours Login and Unlock Events: select this option to show the total number of device login and unlock events, per device group, during the date range. To use the selected Display option the next time you open this report, click Save.
View the specific number of devices in a device group or folder	With Display set to Count of Devices with Events, hover over the applicable bar. The item's name and the device count shows in a tooltip.
View the total amount of device activity for a device group or folder	With Display set to Device Activity, hover over the applicable bar. The item's name and the total activity in days, hours, and minutes (dd:hh:mm) shows in a tooltip. For example, a value of 9:06:34 indicates a total of 9 days, 6 hours, and 34 minutes of activity.
View the total number of login and unlock events for a device group or folder	With Display set to Login and Unlock Events, hover over the applicable bar. The item's name and the total count of login and unlock events shows in a tooltip.
Remove a device group or folder from the bar chart	Hover over the item's name in the bar chart and click the icon. The bar is removed and the associated devices are removed from the results grid.

You can work with the results grid in the following ways:

To edit the report's scope and Series:

1. In your Device Analytics report, click Edit to open the Edit Device Analytics Report dialog.

2. On the Define Scope page, select device groups and folders to compare:

   • To select a device group or folder, select the item's check box.
   • To select a device group that is the child of a folder or device group, click the item's icon and select the child's check box.
   • To find a device group or folder, perform a search.
   • To compare your selected device groups against all active devices in your account, select the check box next to All active devices.

   You can select up to 30 items to compare.You can select up to 60 items to compare, but note that as you select more items, it may become more difficult to analyze the report.

3. Click Create Series to open the Create Series page.

4. To change the date range, click the field under Select date range and select one of the following options:

   • Last month
   • Last 3 months
   • Last 6 months
   • Last 12 months
   • Custom

   The data available in the report is also determined by the activation date of the Device Usage policy. If you select a date range that begins before the activation date, data for the entire date range is not available.

5. If you selected Custom in the previous step, two date fields show. Specify a date range by clicking each field and selecting a date from the calendar. Dates more than one year in the past, or any date in the future, are not available.

6. To edit the report's Series, do the following:

   1. In the Series Name field, edit the name.

   2. Under Activity Type, select one or more of the following user event types:

      • Login and Unlock
      • Device Activity

      To clear a selection, click its check box. You must select at least one activity type.

   3. Under Filters update the filters used to define the report's Series. You can add filters based on a number of data points.
   4. If you want to remove the entire Series and start again, click Delete Series.
   5. When you're finished editing the Series, click Done.

   The dialog closes, the updated Series is saved to the report, and the report is generated.

   It may take a few moments to generate the report.

7. To save you changes, do one of the following:

   • To save your changes to the existing report, click Save.

   • To save your changes to a new report:

     1. Click Report Options > Save as.
     2. On the Save to a New Report dialog, enter a Report Name and Description for the new report and click Save.
8. Click Close to close the confirmation message. If you created a new report, the new report is added to the My Reports view of the Reports page and the Devices report category.
