Reviewing widgets in expanded view
Dive deeper in to a widget's data by opening it in expanded view.
Expanded view shows a larger version of the widget. If the widget contains a lot of data, expanded view makes it easier to review the data shown on the widget's X (horizontal) axis. This view also includes a results grid of data below the widget.

To open a widget in expanded view:
- Hover over
Dashboard on the navigation bar and click the dashboard you want to open.
- Do one of the following:
- Click the widget's
(View expanded size) icon. The widget opens in expanded view.
- Click an element in a widget, such as a bar, slice, or label. The widget opens in expanded view, filtered by the selected item.
- In the widget, click
>
Settings. The widget opens in expanded view, in edit mode.
- Click the widget's

Hover over a bar, slice, or line to view its associated data.
Depending on the type of chart, you can work with the widgets in the following ways:

Bar charts:
If the widget includes grouped data, click a group name near the top of the widget to focus on that group's bars in the chart. The other group names are now grayed out and their bars are hidden. The data in the results grid is filtered for the selected group.
To remove the focus on the selected group, click the group name again, or click another group name.
- To view more information about a specific item in a widget, do one of the following:
- Click a value on the x or y axis. The data in the results grid is filtered by the selected value. A solid black border is added to the bar (or bars) associated with the selected value.
For horizontal bar charts, only the values on the Y axis are clickable. For vertical bar charts, only the values on the X axis are clickable.
Click a bar. The data in the results grid is filtered by the selected bar. A solid black border is added to the selected bar.
To remove a bar's black border and the filter applied to the results grid, click the bar again, or click another bar.
- Click a value on the x or y axis. The data in the results grid is filtered by the selected value. A solid black border is added to the bar (or bars) associated with the selected value.

Donut charts:
To view more information about a specific slice in a chart, click the slice or the slice's label. The data in the results grid is filtered by the selected slice. The selected slice is visually separated from the rest of the donut.

Line charts:
- To view information for a specific point in time, hover over the line.
To view or edit a widget's configurations, click its icon to open the settings panel.

Expanded view includes a results grid showing detailed information about the widget data. Any filters applied to the widget are also applied to the data in the results grid. The columns in the grid correspond to the values selected in the following widget settings fields:
- Fields
- Group fields by (if applicable)
- Metric
If the widget's data source is set to Devices, the following columns are also included:
- Device make
- Last connected
- Username
- Device model
- OS name
If the widget's data source is set to Applications, the following columns are also included:
- Device
- Installed (date and time)
- Install location
If the widgets' data source is set to Application usage, Device usage, or Web usage, and the chart type is set to (line chart), a usage column is included for each day, week, or month presented in the chart.
To sort the information by a particular column, click the applicable column header. To reverse the sort order, click the column header again. An icon indicates whether the list is sorted in ascending or descending
order.
From the results grid, you can performs actions on devices.

You can edit a widget's settings at any time.
To edit a widget's settings:
- If the widget's settings panel isn't showing, click
. The panel opens on the right.
- Do one or more of the following:
- Edit the widget's title and description by clicking each field and editing the text.
- Change the chart type.
- Change the data source.
- Update the remaining fields in the Settings dialog, as required.
- Update the quick controls.
- To remove all of your changes, click .
- When you're done, click Save.

If a widget's results grid includes a Device column, you can select devices in the results grid and perform the following tasks:
- Freeze
- Run script
- Wipe
- Send message
- Unenroll
- Remove freeze
- Delete file
- Perform EDD scan
- Change license
- Report missing or stolen
- Report found
- Manage supervisor password
- Run playbook
Depending on the Absolute licenses associated with your account, and your user role, some tasks may not be available.
