Exporting widget data
You can export a widget's data to a report, which can be downloaded to your computer in any of the following file formats:
- Comma Separated Values (.csv)
- Microsoft Excel Open XML Spreadsheet (.xlsx)
- Extensible Markup Language (.xml)
In addition to the data shown in the widget, your exported report can include:
- Additional columns of data
- A breakdown of the data excluded from the chart, such as the data aggregated in the Others bar or slice

To export data from a widget:
- Click
Dashboard on the navigation bar, and then click the dashboard you want to export.
- To change the information included in a widget before you export its data, do the following:
- Edit the widget's settings
- Use the quick controls to change the widget's filters
The following widget customizations are not reflected in the exported report:
- Filters applied by clicking a label, bar, or slice in the chart
To apply filters, use the quick controls.
- Sort order
The data is sorted alphabetically by the first report column. To change the sort order, sort the report's data after it's exported.
- Click the widget's
(Export data) icon to open the Export data dialog.
Note that you can also export a widget's data from expanded view.
- Click the Format field and select one of the following options:
Option Description CSV (.csv) with column names Exports the report (including column headers) in Comma Separated Values (.csv) file format CSV (.csv) without column names Exports the report (excluding column headers) in Comma Separated Values (.csv) file format Excel (.xlsx) Exports the report (including column headers) in Microsoft Excel Open XML Spreadsheet (.xlsx) file format
If the report contains more than 1 million rows, select the CSV format. Reports of this size are not supported in Excel.
XML (.xml) Exports the report in Extensible Markup Language (.xml) file format -
By default, all dates and times in the report are presented in the time zone set in your web browser. To present them in another time zone, click the Exported time zone field and do one of the following:
- To apply a new time zone to this report export only, search for a city in the desired time zone and select it.
- To apply a new time zone to this report export, and set it as the default value to show in the Time Zone field for all future scheduled and exported reports:
- Search for a city in the desired time zone.
- Hover over the city name and click Set default. The time zone under the field is updated to your selection.
This setting is user specific; it does not update the Exported time zone field for other users.
To set it back to the time zone set in your web browser, select Use my time zone.
- [Optional] To include additional data in the report, click the field under Include columns and select each column you want to add. When you're finished, click outside the list to close it. To remove a column, click its
icon. Note that you can't remove the grayed out columns, but you can delete them after the report is exported.
As you add more columns, the report data becomes more granular, causing additional records (rows) to be added to the report.
- [Optional] Charts are limited to a maximum number of bars, slices, or lines. Depending on the configuration of the widget's Group remaining values as 'Others' setting, the remaining data may be aggregated in an Others bar or slice, or it may be excluded from the chart.
To include this data in the export, and separate it into individual records for deeper analysis, ensure that the checkbox next to Include entire dataset is selected. To exclude the data, clear the checkbox. Note that the checkbox is selected by default when the widget's Group remaining values as 'Others' setting is selected.
When the Include entire dataset option is selected, a large number of additional records (rows) may be added to the report.
- Click
<widget name>_yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm(<time zone>).<file extension>
. The export process starts. The exported report is saved with the following file name:
