Migrating device field data between devices
The Has Service Guarantee device field cannot be migrated. To update the field for one or more devices, use the Change License action to assign or remove a license that includes the Service Guarantee.
You can migrate stored data between two devices by copying data from one device to another, moving the data, or switching one device's data with another.
The following table outlines the data changes that occur on Device A and Device B when you use the different data migration methods.

You can copy Device Field data from one device to another device, resulting in identical values for both devices.
Device A has the following two fields:
and Device B has the following two fields:
When the data from these two fields is copied from Device A to Device B, then the original values from Device B are overwritten to match those of Device A. When completed, both devices have identical data in these two fields.

To copy stored data from one device (Device A) to another device (Device B):
- Log in to the Secure Endpoint Console as a user with Manage permissions for Device Fields.

Do one of the following:
- On device A's Device Details: Custom Fields page, click Edit Device Fields.

On the navigation bar:
- Click
Settings >
Custom fields > View and edit device fields.
- Click Actions > Choose device.
- On the Choose device dialog, search for Device A and select it.
- Click Request.
- Click
The View and edit device fields page opens with Device A's Identifier shown next to Data for the Device. Both the Fixed Device Fields and the Custom Device Fields tables refresh to show any values previously assigned to this device.
- Click Actions > Copy data to new device. The Copy Data to Another Device page opens.
- At the Device B area, click Select Device for Copy.
- On the Choose device dialog, search for Device B and select it.
- Click Request. The Copy Data to Another Device page refreshes to show the information for Device B.
- Review the details shown for each device to verify that you have selected the correct devices.

Select the data fields that you want to copy:
- Click Copy data.
- On the Copy data from A to B page, select the checkbox next to each field that you want to copy. To select all fields, select the checkbox in the header. To clear all selections, clear the checkbox in the header.
- Click Copy from A to B.
- On the Warning dialog, review the warning message and click Copy if you want to proceed.
- On the confirmation dialog, click Close.

On the Copy data from A to B page, verify that the information you wanted to copy shows for Device B and click Close.
The View and edit device fields page refreshes to show the Data for the Device: <Device B’s Identifier> specific information in both the Fixed and Custom Device Fields locations.
- Click Save changes and on the confirmation dialog, click OK.
A confirmation message indicates that Device B now has the field data copied from Device A.

Moving data differs from copying data in that when complete, the selected data fields associated with the first device (Device A) are cleared and left blank.

When the data from these two fields is moved from Device A to Device B, the original values from Device B are overwritten with those values from Device A and Device A’s values are cleared because they were moved. When complete, the devices have the following values:

- On the Move data from A to B page, select the checkbox next to each field that you want to move. To select all fields, select the checkbox in the header. To clear all selections, clear the checkbox in the header.
- Click Move from A to B.
- On the Warning dialog, review the warning message and click Move if you want to proceed.
- On the confirmation dialog, click Close.
- On the Move data from A to B page, verify that the information you wanted to move is showing for Device B and click Close.
The View and Edit Device Fields page refreshes to show the Data for the Device: <Device B’s Identifier> specific information in both the Fixed Fields and Custom Device Fields locations.

When you migrate data using the Switch Data option, the two selected devices exchange data values with each other. Neither device retains its original values.

When the data from these two fields is switched between Device A and Device B, the devices have the following values:

To switch stored data between devices:

- On the Switch data between A and B page, select the checkbox next to each field that you want to switch. To select all fields, select the checkbox in the header. To clear all selections, clear the checkbox in the header.
- Click Switch between A and B.
- On the Warning dialog, review the warning message and click Switch if you want to proceed.
- On the confirmation dialog, click Close.
- On the Switch data from A to B page, verify that the information for each device is correct and click Close.
