Viewing and editing your user profile

You can open your user profile to view your user role and your assigned device group.

You can also update the following information to define your preferences when working in the Secure Endpoint Console, and to keep your user details current:

  • Name
  • Language and locale
  • Time zone
  • Session timeout
  • Reset Two-Factor Authentication for your user account (if this feature is enabled)

To update the email address that you use to log in to the Secure Endpoint Console, contact your Absolute administrator.

To view and update your user profile:

  1. On the navigation bar, click Settings and then click the user profile area at the top of the menu. The Edit Profile dialog opens.
  2. To view your user role and assigned device group, click User Preferences. Your role and device group show under Role Assignment Details.
  3. To update your first name or last name, click User Details and update the fields as required.
  4. To set the language and locale that you want to apply to the pages in the Secure Endpoint Console:

    1. Click User Preferences.
    2. Click the Default User Language and Locale field and select a language and locale from the list. The console will be updated to the selected language after you click OK in step 9.
  5. To set your time zone:

    1. Click User Preferences.
    2. Click the Default Time Zone field and select your time zone.
  6. To set the number of minutes to elapse before your user session times out due to inactivity:

    1. Click User Preferences.
    2. Click the Console Session Timeout field and select a value from the list. The following options are available:

      • 20 minutes (default)

      • 60 minutes

This setting sets the timeout for user sessions within the Secure Endpoint Console only. The timeout of the IdP An online service or website that creates, maintains, and manages identity information and authenticates users on the Internet using security tokens. may be set to a different duration, and it is not affected by this setting.

  7. If Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) shows on the page and you want to reset 2FA for your Absolute user account, select the check box. The next time you attempt to log in to the console, the Enable Two-Factor Authentication dialog shows allowing you to reconfigure the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

If you delete your Absolute user account from the Google Authenticator app, uninstall the app, lose your mobile device, or purchase a new device, you can't reset 2FA yourself because you can't log in to the Secure Endpoint Console. Contact your Absolute administrator to request a reset of 2FA for your Absolute user account.

  8. Click Save.
  9. On the confirmation message, click OK.

Your changes are applied to the console.
