Resetting your password

If you have forgotten your password, or you want to change it, you can reset your password.

This task applies only if your account uses the Absolute Identity Provider (IdP) for authentication. If Single Sign-On is enabled for your account, meaning that authentication is handled by a third party IdP, you need to reset your password in that IdP.

To reset your password:

  1. Log out of the Secure Endpoint Console.
  2. On the Absolute Login page, click Reset Password.
  3. In the Email Address field, enter the email address you use to log in to the Secure Endpoint Console.
  4. In the Verification Code field, enter the code shown to the right of the field.
  5. Click Reset Password. A confirmation message shows.
  6. Check your email inbox folder for the "Absolute Recover Password" email. If you do not receive an email within a few minutes, check your junk folder.
  7. Open the email and click Reset Password. The Create Password page opens.

The Reset Password link is valid for 72 hours only. If the link has expired, repeat steps 2 through 7.

  8. In the Password field, enter a new password. Passwords can be between 8 and 64 characters in length and must include at least 2 alphabetic characters and 1 special character. Passwords can contain any printable ASCII characters, including spaces and Unicode characters. Reuse of your last 5 passwords is not permitted.
  9. In the Re-enter Password field, enter the new password again.
  10. Click Create Password. The Absolute Login page opens. You can now log in using your new password.
