Absolute release notes - Version 7.23 hotfixes

• The Go to Classic Alerts page link has been removed from the Rules area, and the Classic Alerts feature is now retired. To be alerted when an event occurs on a device or in the console, create a rule.

• If Absolute Resilience licenses are associated with your account, you can now collect information about the health of the applications installed on your Windows and Mac devices.

  Detailed information about the health of supported applications is now available on the Applications page in the Assets area.

  Click an application to view a summary of its health, including visualizations. Use the Health column to find the devices with unhealthy applications and then view the detected reason for the Unhealthy status. You can then troubleshoot the applications to return them to a healthy state.

  The Health column is also available on the following pages:

  • Applications page in a device's Device Details
  • Installed Applications report

  To start collecting Application Health information from your Windows and Mac devices, select the Include Health data option in your activated Installed Applications policies.

• Application Resilience policies, which collect information about the functional status of third-party applications installed on your Windows devices, have been updated with the following changes:

  • VMware Carbon Black EDR Sensor

    Application Resilience now supports VMware Carbon Black EDR Sensor. Learn more

  • Halcyon Anti Ransomware

    Application Resilience now supports Halcyon Anti Ransomware. Learn more

  • Symantec DLP

    Policies for Symantec DLP now successfully return the name of the service and the error message in Status details when a service that is part of the application’s health checks doesn’t exist.

  • In some cases, Application Resilience policies showed that the application Status for a device was Compliant and the Repair status was Failure, even though the application was healthy and the RAR component didn’t try to repair the application. This issue is now fixed.

• For accounts with buy back purchase orders, devices may have failed to move to the Unlicensed Policy Group when licenses expired. This issue is now fixed.

• Absolute accounts with a very large number of devices can now successfully schedule a Device Usage Details report.

• A new version of the Absolute Connector is now available for download from the ServiceNow Store. Version 1.1 of the Connector includes enhancements that allow ServiceNow users to request the following device actions directly from their ServiceNow instance:

  • End User Messaging
  • Delete Files
  • Wipe

• Following the release of a recent hotfix on Absolute 7.23, a Mac device’s anti-malware information may have failed to be updated in the console if the Definition Date field in the AVP payload was empty or set to Null. This issue is now fixed.

• Application Resilience policies, which collect information about the functional status of third-party applications installed on your Windows devices, have been updated with the following changes:

  • BeyondTrust Jump Client

    If BeyondTrust Jump Client was installed into a custom directory that contained spaces, the script used to detect the installation location may not have been able to detect the spaces and the installation failed. This issue is now fixed.

  • Cisco Umbrella Roaming Client

    In some cases, Cisco Umbrella Roaming Client could not be detected because a variation in the application name. Now, Cisco Umbrella Roaming Client can be detected if the application name is either Umbrella Roaming Client or Umbrella Roaming Client (x86).

  • JumpCloud Agent

    Application Resilience now supports JumpCloud Agent. Learn more

• Occasionally, new fields are added to Application Resilience configurations. In some cases, adding the new fields prevented Application Resilience policy updates made in the Secure Endpoint Console from being saved to devices. This issue is now fixed.

• Following the release of 7.23, the Chromebook extension was unable to start on device running Chrome OS 91. This issue is now fixed.

• To consistently detect applications installed in user context, the Secure Endpoint Agent now waits for a user to be logged in before it starts a full scan, in most cases.

The Secure Endpoint Agent is now supported on devices running the macOS 14 operating system.

• Application Resilience policies, which collect information about the functional status of third-party applications installed on your Windows devices, have been updated with the following changes:

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

    Policies for Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client have been renamed Cisco Secure Client. Policies for Cisco Secure Client now support version 5.0 or higher.

  • Absolute Secure Access

    Policies for Absolute Secure Access now support version 13.

• For health checks for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Defender Antivirus that are monitored using a script, the Status details messages have been improved to make them easier to read.

• Previously, an Unenroll request automatically removed all outstanding Freeze requests from a device, but didn’t delete them from the server. If an unenrolled device was re-enrolled, the Freeze requests were resent to the device.

  This issue is now fixed. An Unenroll request now removes all outstanding Freeze requests from the device and from the server.

• The Absolute agent now successfully detects the following applications:

  • Symantec Encryption Desktop version 10.5.x
  • WinMagic Inc. SecureDoc Disk Encryption version 9

• In some cases, the username of the logged-in user was collected, even though the Absolute account was configured to not collect it. This issue is now fixed.

• Application Resilience policies, which collect information about the functional status of third-party applications installed on your Windows devices, have been updated with the following changes:

  • Syxsense Responder

    Policies now support Syxsense Responder version 22.11.x or higher

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection

    Policies for Symantec Endpoint Protection version 14.2.x or higher no longer check the following Symantec Endpoint Protection Application Hardening services:

    • Symantec Endpoint Protection Hardening CAF Service (CAFServiceMain.exe)
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection Hardening Utility (SISIPSUtil.exe)
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection Hardening Prevention (SISIPSService.exe)
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection Hardening Detection (SISIDSService.exe)
• Following the release of 7.23, in some cases, an Application Resilience policy may have been unable to download the installer for an application when the application had a Status of Not compliant and the application was configured with the Report, repair, and reinstall option. This issue is now fixed.

• When you export a smart device group that is a child of another smart device group, the correct filters are now applied and the exported device list now matches the device list shown in the console.
• Following the release of 7.23, smart device groups that used a Custom Field filter to associate devices with the smart device group would not load and displayed an error in the Secure Endpoint Console. This issue is now fixed.

• A new option has been added to the Schedule report dialog on the following console pages:

  • Assets > All Devices
  • Assets > Missing Devices
  • Reports > Device Usage report

  Select Include Device Usage details to schedule a second report that contains device usage details for the selected devices. This option only applies to daily and weekly recurrences; monthly recurrences are not supported.

  The report is compressed and sent in a separate email. To accommodate the report's larger file size, you may need to update your mail server settings. For more information, see Scheduling reports.
