Dark Devices widget

The Dark Devices widget on the Dashboard provides an overview of the devices that are considered to have gone dark. A device is dark when it has not checked in to the Absolute Monitoring Center for 30 days or more, typically because it has been continuously offline or powered off.

The widget includes the following data, depending on the selected view:

Shows the number of devices that have not checked in to the Absolute Monitoring Center for 30 days or more, including devices with an Agent Status The operating condition of a device's Secure Endpoint Agent. Possible values are Active (indicates that the device's agent has connected to the Absolute Monitoring Center), Inactive (indicates one of the following: the device was moved to another account; the device was unenrolled, but it is now set to be reactivated; or the device had Persistence enabled at the factory, but it has not yet called in to the Absolute Monitoring Center), and Disabled (indicates that the agent is either flagged for removal or removed from the unenrolled device). Inactive and Disabled devices do not consume a license. set to Inactive.

Trend

Provides a graphical representation of how the number of dark devices has changed over time

To change the time period, click the link beside Trend over and select one of the following options: last 30 days (default), last 60 days, or last 90 days.

Changing the time period doesn't affect the number of devices shown under Currently Dark.

Shows the number of dark devices in your account on each day of the selected time period. Move your mouse cursor over the trendline to see the total number of dark devices on a particular day.

To open the Dark Devices report from any view, click the number under Currently Dark.

To change the widget title or customize the widget data, open Advanced Settings.
