Viewing a device's hardware information

On the Hardware pages for a device, you can view detailed information about the hardware installed on the device. You can access the Hardware pages from any page that shows linked device identifiers in the results grid.

To view the hardware information for a device:

  1. On any page that shows linked device identifiers in the first column of the results grid, such as the All Devices page in the Devices area, click the link for the device that you want to view. Summarized information about the device shows in the page header.
  2. Click the Details tab and then click Hardware. The following subtabs show:

    The Secure Endpoint Agent is responsible for detecting and collecting hardware information from a device. For details about the specific hardware information detected for each supported operating system, see the Hardware section of Data points collected by activated policies.

    Memory

    Shows information about each memory detected on the device

    The page includes information such as the manufacturer, size, speed, and type.

    The Secure Endpoint Agent cannot collect memory information for MacBook Pro devices with an Apple M1 chip.

    Shows information about the central processing unit (CPU) on the device

    The page includes information such as the full name, architecture type, cache size and speed, and the model and speed of the graphics processing unit (GPU)

    Shows information about each CD ROM drive detected on the device

    The page includes information such as the name, drive, and media type.

    Display

    Shows information about the device's monitors

    The page includes information such as the manufacturer and model, the dimensions, the resolution, and the installed drivers.

    Modem Shows information about all modems detected on the device, such as GPS receivers, cellular modems, and mobile broadband adapters P P O

    Network Shows information about any Bluetooth, network, telephone, Wi-Fi, and wireless adapters detected on the device P P P
    Storage

    Shows information about the disks and volumes detected on the device

    The disk information includes the manufacturer, firmware revision, size, and number of partitions. The volume information includes the name, file system, free space, and size.

    Shows information about the local and network printers connected to the device

    The page includes information such as the printer name, driver name, and port number.

  3. Click a subtab to view information about the hardware component.

The number of detected instances of the component shows in the count indicator . To view the hardware information associated with an instance, click the applicable instance name.

If Information not detected at this time shows, the hardware component is not detected on the device, or no information about this component is available. If Information not available for this platform shows, the hardware component is not supported on this device and operating system. If No data shows in a field, the device information was not detected on the device.
