Downloading DataExplorer Builder

Depending on the Absolute product licenses associated with your account, the DataExplorer Builder may not be available.

Absolute DataExplorer Builder is a Windows application that lets you graphically build queries to be run against your endpoints. Once you successfully build a query, you can export it to a JSON file and add the file as a data point to the Custom Data policy. DataExplorer Builder is an advanced feature, and some familiarity with the Windows operating system, programming logic, and scripting is recommended.

To download DataExplorer Builder:

  • your user role must be granted Manage permissions for Custom Data Collection and Policies. All default Administrator roles are granted these permissions.
  • you have the Absolute Resilience license

To use DataExplorer Builder, the following requirements must be met:

  • DataExplorer Builder must be installed on a Windows device running a supported version of the Windows operating system

    Due to restrictions placed on Windows 11 SE by Microsoft, data points that use PowerShell are not supported on devices running Windows SE 11.

  • DataExplorer Builder must be run using elevated (admin) access

To download DataExplorer Builder

  1. Log in to the Secure Endpoint Console as a user with Manage permissions for Custom Data Collection and Policies.
  2. On the navigation bar, click Policies > Custom Data.

  3. Click Download Builder.

    The Download Data Explorer Builder dialogue opens.

  4. Click Download.

The DataExplorer Builder MSI installer is downloaded.
