Editing scripts

You can update the following details about a script in the Script Library:

  • Script Name
  • Description
  • Script configurations, such as Rights and Maximum Run Time
  • Script parameters

You can also replace the PowerShell or Bash script with a new script file, or add a second script.

NOTE  You can't edit an Absolute scriptA script, authored by Absolute, that is available by default in the Script Library. You can run Absolute scripts on your devices to perform common device management tasks.. Absolute scripts show on the sidebar under ABSOLUTE.

To edit a script:

  1. Log in to the Absolute console as a user with Manage permissions for Reach Script.
  2. On the navigation bar, click > Script Library.
  3. On the sidebar under CUSTOM, click the script you want to edit to open it in the work area.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. To update the Script Name, click the field and edit the name.
  6. To update the Description, click the field and edit the text.
  7. If the script includes only one script file, you can add a second script:

    The script shows in the Preview box.

  8. Do one or both of the following:

  9. Click Save to save your changes.
  10. NOTE  All script configurations are saved with the script as default values. If you entered parameters, they are also saved as defaults.
