WinMagic SecureDoc™ for Windows, Enterprise Edition (WinMagic SecureDoc) is a disk encryption product that secures data stored on an organization's devices. It consists of two main components: the SecureDoc client, which encrypts and decrypts data on a device, and the SecureDoc Enterprise Server, which organizations use to manage encryption across their fleet of devices.
NOTE This feature supports the enterprise version of WinMagic SecureDoc for Windows. The standalone version isn't supported.
You can activate an Application Persistence policy to collect information about the functional status of the SecureDoc clients installed on your Windows devices and view the results in reports. You can also configure the policy to attempt to repair or reinstall the client.
Application Persistence policies for WinMagic SecureDoc are supported on devices running a supported version of the Windows operating system and one of the following versions of the SecureDoc client:

You can configure an Application Persistence policy for WinMagic SecureDoc to enable the RAR component to attempt to reinstall the SecureDoc client it if it's not functioning or missing.
You can configure an Application Persistence policy for WinMagic SecureDoc to enable the RAR component to attempt to repair the SecureDoc client if it's not functioning, or reinstall it if it's missing or can't be repaired.

|The RAR component restarts the service.|
|The SecureDoc client failed to be repaired (version 7.1.x)||
If the Report, repair, and reinstall option is selected in the Application Persistence policy, the RAR component downloads and installs the configured version of the client.
NOTE Downgrades are not supported. If the version installed on a device is higher than the expected version, no action is taken.
NOTE A device restart is required after the SecureDoc client is installed. The Absolute agent does not force the device to restart, so a status of Not Compliant continues to show in the Application Persistence reports until the device user performs a restart. You can review the report's Status Details to determine if a restart is required.
