Viewing the event history of a device

NOTE  Depending on the Absolute product licenses associated with your account and your account settings, the Event History page may not be available.

The Event History page shows information about the following Device Action requests submitted for a device, depending on the device's operating system:

Operating system

Device Action requests

Windows

All new, pending, and completed:

  • Freeze requests and Remove Freeze requests
  • Script requests and Cancel Script requests
  • Manage Supervisor Password requests
  • Unenroll Device requests

Mac

All new, pending, and completed:

  • Freeze requests and Remove Freeze requests
  • Script requests and Cancel Script requests
  • Unenroll Device requests

Android

All new, pending, and completed:

  • Freeze requests and Remove Freeze requests
  • Unenroll Device requests

Chromebook

All new, pending, and completed:

  • Unenroll Device requests
  • Freeze requests and Remove Freeze requests

Each time a Device Action request changes status, a new event (record) is added to the page.

Example

A user submitted an Unenroll Device request for a device yesterday and the request is now being processed. Two events will show on the page: one dated yesterday with a status of Unenroll Device Requested and a newer one with a status of Device Unenroll Processing. The Event ID for both events is the same.

To view the event history for a device:

NOTE  The Event History page will not contain any events if a Device Action request has not been submitted for the device.

  1. On any page that shows linked device identifiers in the first column of the results grid, such as the Assets > Devices page, click the link for the device that you want to view. Summary information about the device shows in the page header.

    Shows the status of a Unenroll Device request

    The date and time when the status of the request last changed
