Secure Endpoint Agent release notes - Version 7.2.1

If automatic agent updates are disabled, you can assign an agent version to your account's Windows and Mac devices to prevent agent upgrades. About the Secure Endpoint Agent

The Secure Endpoint Agent is a small software client that resides on devices that are managed in the Secure Endpoint Console. After the agent is initially installed on a new device, the agent is activated with the first connection to the Absolute Monitoring Center.

Each agent package includes software specific to its supported operating system, including the agent and its associated components, an installer, and a readme file.

System requirements

The 7.2.1 package bundle contains Secure Endpoint Agent software that supports devices running the following operating systems:

Features supported in this agent version

In addition to the features supported in version 7.2, the Secure Endpoint Agent now supports the following features and functionality:

  • Application Persistence: The agent component that supports Application Persistence policies can now report on, repair, and reinstall the following third party application: Cisco® AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.

In addition to the base features supported in this agent version, the following fixes and improvements are available:

  • The Secure Endpoint Agent now detects Cisco® Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) when it is installed on a Windows device.
  • On devices running the Windows 7 operating system and PowerShell 2.0, you can now successfully pass a null value for a Custom Device Field when you include the field in your Absolute Reach script.
  • If a user happens to be logged in to a Windows device when an Secure Endpoint Agent component crashes, the user no longer sees a Windows dialog stating that an application has stopped working.
Mac
  • The Secure Endpoint Agent now detects Cisco® Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) when it is installed on a Mac device.
