Canceling actions
If the required permissions are associated with your user role, you can cancel the pending actions for the following types of Action Requests:
To cancel a pending action from Action Requests, your role needs to be granted Perform or Run permissions for the action being canceled.

For Send Message requests:

You can cancel actions for devices with an action status of Pending, Ready, or Processing.

For actions with an action status of Failed or Completed, the action has already been sent to the device and it can't be canceled.
For all other action requests:

You can cancel actions for devices with an action status of Pending.

For actions with an action status of Ready, Failed, Processing, Completed, or Succeeded, the action has already been sent to the device and it can't be canceled.
Requests that are Pending Approval can only be canceled by the user that created the request.
For actions with an action status of Canceled, the action has already been canceled.

If the prerequisite is met, you can select an action and attempt to cancel it.
To cancel all Pending actions in a request
- Log in to the Secure Endpoint Console as a user with Perform or Run permissions for the Device Action you want to cancel.
- On the navigation bar, click
History > Action Requests.

On the Action Requests sidebar, click the applicable request. To find a specific request, do one or more of the following:
- Select an option from the Actions drop-down to filter by type of action.
- Select an option from the Created drop-down to filter by the date the requests were created. Options vary from Past 7 days to Past 90 days.

to expand the Search field and enter one of the following:
- The request name
- The last name of the requester
- The script name (only applies to Run Script requests)
- The message name (only applies to Send Message, Freeze, and Remove Freeze requests)
The search results update dynamically as you type. To clear the Search field, click
.
- In the request summary, hover on the Pending section of the progress bar and click Cancel request.
Absolute attempts to cancel the device action on eligible devices in the request. View information on the Cancel request for a specific device on the Events page.

If the prerequisite is met, you can cancel specific actions by selecting them from the the work area.
To cancel a Device Action request for specific devices
- Log in to the Secure Endpoint Console as a user with Perform or Run permissions for the action.
- On the navigation bar, click
History > Action Requests.

- In the work area, use the search field or filters to find the actions you want to cancel.
- Select each action. To select all actions in the request details, select the Select All checkbox in the results details header.
- Click
Cancel.
Absolute attempts to cancel the device action on the selected devices. View a device's Cancel request events on the Events page.

The Action Requests page is static, the statuses of requests and actions don't update dynamically. To refresh the page, do one of the following:
- Click
(Refresh the page) in the page footer.
- Leave the page and return
- Use your browser's refresh button
