Application Resilience policies for Ivanti Endpoint Manager (Legacy Agent)
You can activate an Application Resilience policy for Ivanti® Endpoint Manager (formerly Ivanti LANDESK Management Suite) to collect information about the functional status of Ivanti Endpoint Manager installed on your Windows devices and view the results in reports. You can also configure the policy to attempt to repair or reinstall the application.

Application Resilience policies for Ivanti Endpoint Manager are supported on devices running:
- a supported version of the Windows operating system

PowerShell version 5.1 or higher
Due to PowerShell restrictions imposed by Microsoft, Application Resilience isn't supported for this application on devices running Windows 11 SE.

one of the following versions of Ivanti Endpoint Manager:
- 11.0.x
- 10.1.x
The Engine Based Agent (EBA) introduced in later versions of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not yet supported.

You can configure an Application Resilience policy for Ivanti Endpoint Manager to enable the Application Resilience (RAR) component A lightweight software component of the Secure Endpoint Agent that detects the status of third party applications installed on a device. The component may also attempt to repair the third party application if it is non-compliant. The RAR component is deployed on a device only when the device is associated with a customized policy group and that policy group's Application Resilience policy is activated. to attempt to repair Ivanti Endpoint Manager if it's not functioning, or reinstall it if it's missing or can't be repaired.
Depending on the Absolute product licenses associated with your account, the Report and repair and Report, repair, and reinstall options may not be available.
The RAR component of the Secure Endpoint Agent can respond to the following issues:

If the Report, repair, and reinstall option is selected in the Application Resilience policy for Ivanti Endpoint Manager, the RAR component downloads and reinstalls the bootstrap agent. A device restart is required after the bootstrap agent is installed. The Secure Endpoint Agent doesn't force the device to restart, so a status of Not Compliant will continue to show in the Application Resilience reports until the device user performs a restart. You can review the report's Status details to determine if a restart is required. |

Before you activate an Application Resilience policy, you need to configure the policy. You need to configure the application version in addition to the settings in Configuring Application Resilience policies.
To configure the application version:
- Under Application version, select 11.0.* from the drop-down.

Enter the version in Ivanti Endpoint Manager (Legacy Agent) version.
- The target version must be a sequence of digits separated by a period.
- You can use wild card "*" characters after the major version, for example, 11.0.* or 11.0.5.*.
Make sure the version you are entering is consistent with version 11.0.x or higher.
If you selected the Report and repair, or the Report, repair, and reinstall option, configure these settings in addition to the settings in Configuring Application Resilience policies.
For the Report, repair, and reinstall option, you can upload the binaries rather than configuring the location.
To configure the Ivanti Endpoint Manager specific settings:

To enable the RAR component to download the following binary files to a device, you need to provide their location on the LANDESK (LD) Server:
- vulscan.exe
- vulscan.dll
- enuVULSCAN.dll
- lddwnld.dll
- LTAPI.DLL
Under Location of the Ivanti Endpoint Manager (Legacy Agent) binaries, enter the LD Server location in the following format:
- URI format (https://<LD Server>/<directory>)
Ensure that a file share has been created for the applicable folder on the LD Server.
- Click Go to URI to test that you entered the location correctly.

Under Username and password (if required):
- Enter the Username and Password of the user who is authorized to access the LD Server.
- To verify that you've entered the password correctly, select the Show Password checkbox.
You can skip this step if you're using a file share, or authentication is not required to access the specified location.
